Job Description
Job Title:
Controls Technician Job Description As a Controls Technician in our food manufacturing facility, you are instrumental in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our production lines. Your specialized skills in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLCs and control systems are vital to the success of our plant operations. Responsibilities Develop and modify PLC programs and HMI interfaces for existing and new production systems. Diagnose and resolve issues with control systems, including hardware and software components. Keep software licenses and support agreements current and compliant. Maintain proficiency in A/C and D/C control systems and their applications in a manufacturing setting. Execute timely repairs on production equipment to minimize downtime. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the shop, boiler room, compressor rooms, and work areas. Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery. Oversee the maintenance of facility structures and grounds. Comply with all quality system requirements and food safety regulations. Be willing to work overtime and flexible shifts to support 24/7 production needs. Adhere to all plant safety protocols, including lockout/tag out and confined space entry. Uphold food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards in all tasks. Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new production equipment. Collaborate with IT to ensure control systems are networked and communicate effectively with other plant systems. Essential Skills Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with an emphasis on control systems used in food manufacturing. Detail-oriented with the ability to follow complex instructions and work collaboratively in identifying and resolving technical issues. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Commitment to customer satisfaction, quality, and safety in all aspects of work. Excellent communication skills, maintaining professionalism and respect in all interactions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Formal training in PLC/Controls or equivalent hands-on programming experience. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Forklift License (provided by employer). - 8am). Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00
- $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
