Job Description

National Technical Institute (NTI) is seeking an experienced, motivated, and student-focused Electrical Trade Instructor to join our Phoenix, Arizona campus in a full-time role. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrician who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals — or for someone interested in transitioning from the field into education and training. Position Overview The Electrical Trade Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on instruction in both classroom and lab environments for students enrolled in the Electrical Trades program. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Campus Director. Schedule The ideal schedule for this role is Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM

  • 10:00 PM This schedule creates a consistent 4-day work week while allowing instructors to work closely with students in both daytime and evening cohorts.
Key Responsibilities Provide instruction to students in both theory and practical applications of electrical trade concepts Deliver NTI curriculum in classroom and lab environments while maintaining student engagement and accountability Prepare lesson plans, maintain student records, and report on student progress and performance Ensure appropriate safety procedures and policies are followed and enforced in lab environments Maintain program equipment, tools, and lab areas Keep course materials and instruction current with industry standards and technical advancements Participate in professional development and instructor training activities Foster a positive, professional, and motivating learning environment Demonstrate NTI's core values daily through leadership, professionalism, and accountability Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on electrical experience in commercial, residential, multifamily, industrial, or new construction environments Arizona electrical license preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered Strong communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized, dependable, and results-oriented Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop students from diverse backgrounds Prior teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience preferred but not required Physical & Work Environment This position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds as needed. Work is performed in both classroom and lab settings and may include exposure to tools, equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
