Approximately 20 hours per week
Compensation:
$25•35/hour depending on experience Job dates: Mid August Mid December•with possibility of renewal for the new year.

Phone call → In person interview → 3 day paid Summer Camp trial run (July or August) About Sycamore Studio Sycamore Studio is a mobile makerspace and creative education nonprofit that brings hands-on learning experiences to schools, homeschool groups, and community spaces throughout the Malibu area. Our programs center creativity, design thinking, art, engineering, and project-based learning. Students in our programs build inventions, create art, explore robotics, prototype ideas, collaborate with peers, and learn through making. We believe creative education helps students become adaptable, curious, and confident problem solvers. We are looking for an energetic, dependable, and maker-minded facilitator to support our summer programming across multiple locations. General Description This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is excited about creativity, arts, crafts, tinkering, robotics, or hands-on education. You do not need to be an expert teacher, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, responsible, collaborative, and eager to learn.
The ideal candidate is:
A college student, recent graduate, or early-career educator Passionate about creativity and education Comfortable helping run activities for elementary-aged students Excited by makerspaces, art, design, engineering, or robotics Flexible and positive in dynamic learning environments Responsibilities Assist in facilitating makerspace and creative enrichment programs for students Help set up and clean up materials and learning spaces Document student process and manage student portfolios Support students during hands-on projects and challenges Encourage creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving Assist with arts & crafts, building activities, simple robotics, and design projects Help manage student engagement and maintain a positive classroom environment Travel between program locations when needed Qualifications Experience working with children (camp counseling, tutoring, coaching, babysitting, classroom support, etc.) Friendly, dependable, and organized Comfortable engaging with groups of elementary-aged students Interest in creative education, maker education, or project-based learning Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt and problem-solve in active learning environments Reliable transportation needed Bonus Qualifications Experience with arts & crafts, woodworking, cardboard engineering, robotics, Design Thinking or STEM activities Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development Experience in education, camps, museums, afterschool programs, or makerspaces Photography, videography, or social media skills Interest in progressive or alternative education models To apply contact Agustin Molfino ( ) with a cover letter and resume.
