at Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Essential Functions Under general supervision, serves a Computer Operations Technician for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Department of Employment Security (IDES), performing difficult production control procedures, preparing job streams and monitoring outputs on Night Shift-Team B. Monitors the Application Development Machine (4381) responding to any operator intervention request. Reviews and analyzes computer printouts and punchouts to assure conformance to set standards. Periodically cleans printers, card readers and tape drives to prevent buildup of paper, dust and foreign matter harmful to its operation. Assists supervisor by performing studies and making recommendations related to personnel, equipment and training needs. Assists with the ordering, delivery, placement and relocation of all computer related supplies. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. • Requires one year (1) of related data processing experience. Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
