Part-Time Ceramics Studio Staff Description:
The Ceramics Studio Staff is a part time exempt position of 6 hours per week, with occasional opportunity for more hours. The Ceramics Studio Staff is responsible for the operation and daily maintenance of The Umbrella's Ceramics Studio in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Ceramic Studio Manager. Weekend work is required. Responsibilities generally include but are not limited to: Clay reclaim Weekend Studio Monitoring Cleaning andanizing the ceramics facility Loading and unloading electric kilns under the supervision of the Studio Manager or Studio Technician Restocking supplies Compensation and Benefits $20/hr Use of ceramic facilities for your own work during regular open hours if desired for a reduced tuition of $150/session. Use of up to 75lbs of reclaimed clay free of charge. Participation and firing of work in our reduction and soda kilns. Exposure to a professionalmunity studio, infrastructure, and logistics. Exposure to professional ceramic class instruction.
Qualifications:
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelors or Minor in Ceramic Arts preferred Experience loading and operating electric kilns Lift at least 50 pounds, bend over repeatedly (kiln loading) Bend, sit, push, pull, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity Clear understanding and awareness of health and safety precautions of a ceramics studio
