League (FLL) Challenge Instructor/Coach to lead a team of elementary/middle-school students through the 2026-2027 FLL Challenge season. The instructor will coach students as they design, build, and program a

LEGO SPIKE

Prime robot, complete Robot Game missions, develop their Innovation Project, and prepare for an official

FIRST LEGO

League competition. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a small FLL Challenge team through the 16-week season
• Coach students to design, build, and program robots using LEGO Education SPIKE Prime
• Guide students in programming and testing autonomous solutions for the FLL Robot Game missions
• Help students improve their robot design through testing, troubleshooting, and iteration
• Guide students through the Innovation Project, including research, brainstorming, solution development, and presentation
• Prepare students to explain their Robot Design and programming decisions to judges
• Reinforce FIRST Core Values, including teamwork, discovery, innovation, inclusion, impact, and fun
• Manage weekly practices and keep the team progressing toward competition milestones
• Prepare and accompany the team for the official FLL Challenge competition/tournament
• Communicate regularly with Wize regarding team progress and needs Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with

FIRST LEGO

League, robotics competitions, STEM education, or coaching is strongly preferred

• Experience working with children and the ability to create an engaging, collaborative learning environment
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable learning and teaching

LEGO SPIKE

Prime

• Coding experience; familiarity with Scratch-style block programming and/or Python is a plus
• Dependable and able to commit to the full season, including the competition
• College students or graduates in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, Education, or related fields are encouraged to apply
• Must complete required MCPS fingerprinting/background screening and child-abuse prevention training

• $80•100 per session (based on qualification and experience) Wize Provides Wize Computing Academy provides the FLL Challenge materials, LEGO SPIKE Prime equipment and ongoing support throughout the season.
