Elementary After School Program - Part Time, $22.00/hour

Work with kids and have fun as a part-time, after-school chess teacher! No prior chess knowledge is required. We have found the best chess instructors are educators first, not chess experts. We'll teach you everything you need to know about the game, even if you don't know the basics!

The Position:

This isn't your grandpa's boring old chess club, this is The Knight School! Our high-energy approach to teaching chess is designed around keeping chess fun and kid-focused while building sportsmanship, character, and of course helping kids get devastatingly good at chess. We are looking for somebody fun, friendly, and professional with a genuine love for working with grade-school kids in groups of all sizes. You will be working as a part of a team of coaches, following our trademarked and perfected national curriculum, to guide classrooms of children all the way from learning the names of the pieces to chess mastery. And again, no previous chess knowledge is required!

The Schedule/Location:

We will work around your availability. You'll work 3-5 weekday afternoons each week, typically about 3:00-5:00 PM. Our classes take place in the libraries and media centers in some of the best public and private schools in Bath, Beachwood, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Chagrin Falls, Cleveland Heights, North Royalton, North Ridgeville, Richfield, Shaker Heights, and more! We'll schedule you for the locations and days that work best for you. Year-round employment available with summer chess camps!
