Original Grain Restoration provides wood maintenance and restoration services to commercial, multi-family and residential properties in Richmond, Virginia and surrounding areas. Our goal is to preserve and beautify existing wood structures through maintenance and restoration. Our services range from scratch and dent repairs to full service restoration.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wood Craftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in woodworking and an eye for detail, craftsmanship, and precision. You will be responsible for repairing and restoring wooden pieces using a variety of tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Craftsmanship:

Repair and restore a variety of wooden structures

Material Handling:

Prepare wood materials

Finishing:

If applicable , apply stains, paints, varnishes, and other finishes to achieve desired aesthetics and protect wood surface

Restoration:

Prep, repair and restore wooden items, matching existing styles and finishes

Quality Control:

Inspect finished products for defects, measure for accuracy, and make necessary adjustments to meet high standards

Collaboration:

Work closely with project specifications and deadlines are met

Maintenance:

Ensure materials, tools and workspaces are restored, organized and compliant with safety standards and protocols

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Wood Craftsman, similar role or experience Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team Good communication skills, work ethic and reliability Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and/or move heavy materials up to 50 pounds Must be able stand, kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time Comfortable working in various environments, including potentially dusty or noisy condition Maintain high level of safety and adherence to safety procedures Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites in Richmond and surrounding areas Hours will vary based on project volume, scheduling needs and workload requirements Original Grain Restoration is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to non-discrimination in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
