Job Description

Responsibilities Assemble, install, test, inspect, and troubleshoot mechanical spacecraft assemblies. Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and written assembly/integration/test procedures. Perform second-party verification and visual inspections to ensure assemblies meet requirements. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, transportation equipment, and other ground support equipment (GSE) as required. Operate machine tools and equipment, including drill presses, grinders, chop saws, power tools, and hand tools. Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Work closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement, and Shipping teams to resolve production and quality issues. Support additional mechanical activities as business needs require. Cross-train and mentor new employees. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 5+ years of experience in structures, mechanical, electrical, and/or final assembly. 3+ years following written and verbal work instructions. 3+ years working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs. 3+ years using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators. 3+ years working with materials such as adhesives, composites, epoxy, fabrics, honeycomb core, laminates/plastics, or resins. Ability to stand, reach, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Ability to frequently lift 20 lbs. or more. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet-metal brakes, and shears. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience working in a Class 100,000 cleanroom environment. 5+ years building component-level space products such as avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, PCB assemblies, or solar arrays. 5+ years of mechanical troubleshooting, disassembly, and repair experience.
Pay:
$34.00 - $40.00 per hour
