Shop Supervisor Job Summary The Technical Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting mechanical and/or electronic components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow technical documentation, and adherence to safety and quality procedures in a production environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and work instructions Assemble mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic components using hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures, templates, and instructions. Perform basic functional testing and inspections to verify product quality and performance Identify, document, and report assembly defects or deviations from specifications Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality control requirements Collaborate with others to meet production goals and to resolve assembly issues. Accurately complete production records and quality documentation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and performing basic equipment upkeep. • Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred 1-2 years of experience in technical, mechanical, or electronic assembly (or equivalent) Proficiency with hand tools, measuring instruments, and basic test equipment Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Ability to stand, sit, or perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination. Ability to follow detailed instructions and technical documents. Basic mechanical aptitude. Teamwork and communication. Willingness to learn. Applicant must be a U.S. lawful, permanent resident Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as required Ability to perform repetitive motions and fine motor tasks Vision sufficient for close assembly and inspection work Preferred Qualifications Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and assembly documentation 3-5 years of experience in technical, mechanical, or electronic assembly (or equivalent) Experience with electronics assembly, soldering, or cable harnessing Familiarity with ISO, IPC, or other quality standards Basic troubleshooting or repair experience Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime opportunities as applicable Paid holidays
