Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling complex electro-mechanical products by reading and interpreting schematics and drawings, performing precise mechanical and electrical assembly, and ensuring high-quality workmanship in a clean room environment. You will work with cable harnesses, box builds, valves, and point-to-point wiring while using a variety of hand tools and soldering techniques to support reliable production output. Responsibilities Assemble electro-mechanical components and systems using detailed schematics, drawings, and work instructions. Perform mechanical assembly tasks such as box builds, valve assembly, and integration of mechanical and electrical components. Build and route cable harnesses and perform basic and point-to-point wiring in accordance with specifications. Carry out electrical assembly work, including soldering and crimping small pins, to create reliable electrical connections. Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, torque tools, and crimping tools safely and accurately. Inspect assembled components and finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to engineering documentation. Follow clean room procedures and maintain a neat, organized, and safe work area. Multitask across multiple assemblies or stages of production while meeting established timelines and quality standards. Collaborate with other assemblers and support staff to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth production flow. Document work as required and follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Essential Skills Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings. Minimum of 6+ months of assembly experience. Hands-on experience with cable harness assembly. Experience performing box builds and mechanical assembly. Proficiency in soldering for electrical assembly work. Skill in crimping small pins and working with fine electrical connections. Experience with electrical assembly, including basic wiring and point-to-point wiring. Ability to perform valve assembly and related mechanical tasks. Proficient use of hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, torque tools, and crimping tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions. Ability to multitask and manage multiple assembly tasks efficiently. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as an electro-mechanical assembler. Familiarity with pneumatic assembly. Experience performing inspection of assemblies and components. Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components in a production environment. Demonstrated reliability and consistency in a manufacturing or assembly setting. Ability to work effectively as part of a team of assemblers. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a clean room environment alongside approximately 15 other assemblers in the department. The setting is structured and organized, with clear procedures and a focus on cleanliness and precision.
Two shifts are available:
a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a swing shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with swing shift employees training on the day shift for the first few weeks. The role involves regular use of hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, torque tools, and crimping tools, as well as soldering equipment for electrical assembly tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
