Job Description
Assembly - Poway - 2nd Shift $24/hour Job Description This role focuses on assembling power conversion systems in a clean, organized manufacturing and warehouse environment. You will work through clearly defined assembly stages, using detailed digital work instructions to build and inspect components with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and accuracy. The position involves extensive use of hand and power tools, physical activity throughout the day, and on-the-job training to support your success. Responsibilities Assemble, modify, rework, and reassemble production components by following drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, work instructions, and verbal directions. Work through multiple stages of the assembly floor, including pre-assembly of the inverter structure, electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and final mechanical touch-up and visual inspection. Assemble components and inspect parts as required to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. Measure, cut, and crimp wire using machinery and tools provided, following detailed instructions on an iPad. Use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, wrenches, torque wrenches, crimpers, wire strippers, soldering tools, rulers, and fabrication tools to complete assembly tasks. Enter data into the ERP system, including progress updates, quality alerts, and labor details, to maintain accurate production records. Read and follow blueprints and work instructions presented on an iPad, ensuring all steps are completed correctly and in sequence. Work on your feet for the full shift, including crouching and kneeling as needed to complete assembly tasks, similar to working on a vehicle at home. Follow all safety standards and maintain a secure, safe, clean, and organized 5S work environment. Attend required health and safety training and follow all safety and security policies, procedures, and practices. Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and operate equipment and materials properly to prevent accidents and injuries. Promptly report any accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to leadership. Work independently after training, managing your tasks and time to meet daily production goals and deadlines. Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments as needed to support smooth production flow. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Essential Skills 0-1 years of assembly, manufacturing, or closely related work experience, or transferable experience such as automotive technician or similar hands-on roles. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including drills, wrenches, torque wrenches, crimpers, and wire strippers. Ability to read and follow work orders, drawings, and detailed work instructions. Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise assembly and wiring tasks. Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for an 8-hour shift to complete physical assembly work. Basic computer knowledge to navigate and enter data into an ERP system and follow digital work instructions on an iPad. Ability to understand, communicate, and follow written and verbal instructions clearly. Reliability and commitment to completing the contract period with strong attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently after training while also contributing effectively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high quality standards in all work performed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience with wiring, labeling, and crimping is a plus. Ability to identify colors and read mechanical drawings and wire schematics. Comfort with solving basic math problems related to measurements and assembly. Demonstrated commitment to excellence, quality, and high standards. Versatility and flexibility to work within changing priorities and production needs. Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines in a production environment. Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset. Mechanical inclination and interest in hands-on work, similar to automotive or equipment repair. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing facility in Poway with over 100 employees and a strong focus on organization and safety. The environment is clean, well-structured, and follows 5S principles, with tools and materials clearly arranged and daily kits supplied by the warehouse to support an efficient workflow. You will work primarily on an assembly floor that operates in multiple stages, each typically taking about eight hours to complete, with one person assigned to each stage. The position is physically active, requiring standing, crouching, and kneeling for most of the shift while working with hand and power tools. Steel-toed shoes and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment are required at all times. Work instructions and blueprints are accessed via iPads, and you will regularly use an ERP system to record progress and quality information. The schedule includes full-time hours with the need to be open to working overtime and some Saturdays to support production demands. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
