This role is a mix of hands-on assembly and process-driven work, similar to microfabrication. You'll work closely with engineers on prototype builds, early development, and improving how things are done. If you like working with your hands, paying attention to fine details, and figuring out how to make a process better over time, you'll likely enjoy this role. The work requires focus and consistency, but it's not just about following instructions. We're looking for someone who is thoughtful, curious, and willing to speak up when something can be improved. What You'll Do Assemble precision opto-electronic devices and small-scale hardware Perform controlled process steps such as surface prep, handling, inspection, and run sample through assembly equipment. Maintain cleanroom standards and keep the work environment organized and contamination-free. Handle sensitive components using proper ESD techniques Use microscopes, fixtures, and test equipment for inspection and quality checks Follow SOPs and document work clearly, including traceability and observations Support engineers with prototype builds, testing, debugging, and process improvement efforts What We're Looking For Strong attention to detail and a naturally careful working style Comfortable doing repetitive, high-precision work for extended periods in a cleanroom Able to follow multi-step processes consistently without cutting corners Curious and willing to question or improve how things are done Good hand-eye coordination for working with delicate components Willing to flag issues early, whether it's quality, contamination, or process gaps Comfortable working closely with a cross-functional team Preferred Background Associate or bachelor's degree in a science-related field such as Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Biology Experience in a cleanroom, lab, semiconductor, or precision assembly environment is a plus Why Join Us Work alongside highly motivated and skilled scientists and engineers who are working to bring something truly unique to the world. You'll work on advanced hardware where your attention to detail really matters. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team where your input is valued, and you'll gain exposure to prototype work, testing, and real engineering challenges. There is also room to grow into more technical and impactful roles over time. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys careful, hands-on work and also wants to think about how to do things better and faster.
