Electronics Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling and soldering electronic components and systems for advanced robotics applications in the aerospace and defense technology sector. You will work closely with an engineering team to build high-quality electronic assemblies that meet stringent industry and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Perform precision soldering of electronic components on circuit boards, ensuring strong, reliable connections and adherence to quality standards. Assemble electronic and mechanical components into complete units, following detailed work instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings. Support production of electronics for robotics systems by building, wiring, and integrating assemblies in collaboration with the engineering team. Handle and assemble surface-mount technology (SMT) components using appropriate tools, techniques, and inspection practices. Fabricate and route wiring and harnesses, ensuring correct connections, labeling, and organization for reliability and ease of maintenance. Inspect assemblies for defects, verify proper operation, and perform rework or repairs as needed to meet performance and safety requirements. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all production, safety, and ITAR-related procedures and documentation requirements. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues, suggest improvements, and support continuous improvement in assembly processes. Follow production schedules and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and workmanship. Essential Skills Hands-on experience in electronic assembly, including building and integrating electronic components and subassemblies. Proficiency in soldering, including through-hole and surface-mount components, with consistent quality and attention to detail. Experience with wiring and wire harnessing for electronic systems, including routing, bundling, and termination. Familiarity with SMT (surface-mount technology) assembly processes and tools. Ability to read and interpret basic electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions. Experience working in production environments involving electronics, circuits, and electrical assemblies. Strong mechanical aptitude to support mechanical aspects of electronic assemblies. Capability to work effectively alongside engineering teams on robotics or complex electronic systems. Comfort working within aerospace or defense technology environments, following applicable procedures and controls. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in aerospace or defense technology environments is preferred. Experience with circuit board assembly and rework is beneficial. Prior exposure to ITAR-controlled work environments is an advantage. Interest in robotics systems and advanced technology products. Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to follow structured processes. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a stealth aerospace and defense technology company operating under ITAR regulations, requiring adherence to strict security and compliance procedures. You will work on-site in a production environment focused on electronic and mechanical assembly for robotics systems. The typical schedule is a daytime shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., supporting consistent hours and predictable routines. The work involves regular use of soldering tools, wiring equipment, and SMT-related tools, as well as interaction with engineers and production staff on the floor. The environment emphasizes precision, cleanliness, and organization to ensure high-quality, reliable electronic assemblies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
