Job Description
What your day looks like You start your shift by gathering your crew, reviewing safety priorities, and making sure everyone has the right PPE. You rotate through NEXUS stations—moving from precision assembly to clean, reliable wiring—building plate products to specification using standard work. As production ramps up, you operate equipment for top-tier quality and throughput, mentor junior assemblers through tricky wiring diagrams, and keep a close eye on departmental metrics in Excel so the team stays on target. Midway through, you conduct basic preventative maintenance and complete the daily and weekly sign‑offs on maintenance checklists. When units reach end-of-line, you perform testing and troubleshooting, including Hi-Pot (dielectric) checks, to ensure motors, controls, and both high-voltage (3‑phase/480V) and low-voltage circuits are correct and safe. You document what you learn, refine standard work, and translate that know‑how into training moments for the team. Throughout the day, you practice and sustain 5S, contribute ideas to continuous improvement and root-cause projects, and support safety initiatives. You post updated metrics, complete accurate paperwork and online entries, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to move plant objectives forward. You wrap up by confirming your area meets quality and process standards, that sustainability goals are met (less waste, more recycling, lower energy and water use), and that new ideas are captured—living our values of Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, and Driving Innovation. It all comes back to doing the right thing in the right way. How you lead and grow Provide hands-on leadership to a small group of junior assemblers; step into department leadership roles as needed. Act as an influencer and subject matter expert; share insights with regional project teams when called upon. Train, coach, and develop teammates to build both technical depth and professional confidence. Uphold and advocate quality/process standards; interpret and communicate performance metrics. What you'll handle Assembly and wiring across all NEXUS stations using standard work. Operation of equipment to maximize productivity and quality; meet or exceed shift production goals.
