Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Job Duties Hand soldering and reflow of surface mount and thru-hole components to manufactured printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) (IPC-A-610 Class 1-3) in accordance with
IPC J-STD-001.
Inspect PCBA workmanship to ensure conformance to
IPC-A-610
(Class 1-3) standards and/or established quality requirements. Read and understand assembly drawings, visual aids and work instructions. Identify electronic components, polarity markings and correct placement per designated locations on PCBAs. Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics. Mount pre-assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, heat sinks, and sockets onto PCB assemblies.
  • Perform proper PCB assembly cleaning.
  • Work on assigned tasks, monitor and track quality of assemblies and communicate any discrepancies.
  • Complete company provided training / skills qualification.
  • Complete other duties as assigned. Qualities

  • Organized, detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy where this individual will come in contact with complex and sensitive documents Skills & Qualification requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience hand soldering surface mount and thru-hole components to manufactured PCB assemblies in accordance with J-STD-001 and
IPC-A-610
standards.

  • W orking knowledge or previous certification to
IPC-A-7711/7721
Rework and Repair is a plus.
  • Active certifications in any standards listed is also a plus.
  • Knowledge of different processes (lead and lead free) fluxes, solder, and cleaning solvents
  • Ability to identify electronic components and correct placement
  • U nderstanding of manufacturing documentation (i.e., Bill of Materials, Assembly Drawings, PCB files, etc.) and terminology including the ability to read and comprehend technical work instructions
  • Skilled using Microsoft PC
  • Experience using a data entry (ERP) system is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time well, and multitask
  • Ability to work on assigned tasks, monitor and track quality of assemblies and communicate any discrepancies
  • C ompletion of company provided training / skills qualification
  • A ttention to detail with eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to solder with or without magnifying ring light and/or microscope
  • ITAR Compliance:
    U.S. passport, or U.S. birth certificate, or a naturalization certificate, or a Green Card Education
