Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Mechanical Assembler performs a variety of electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components and subassemblies. Using schematics, blueprints, wiring lists, and written or verbal instructions, this role assembles, reworks, and reassembles units to meet precise specifications and customer requirements. Responsibilities Solder cables to connectors with consistent quality and accuracy. Assemble through-hole and surface-mount electronic assemblies according to specifications. Build complex mechanical assemblies using both hand tools and power tools. Interface directly with customers in a professional manner when required. Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements. Assemble parts or units and position, align, and fasten them to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using appropriate tools. Perform basic functional tests and in-circuit tests (ICT) on assembled units. Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly to maintain quality standards. Connect cables, tubes, and wiring according to specifications, schematics, and work instructions. Attach nameplates and mark identifying information on parts and assemblies. Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine component parts, assembly sequences, and methods for electromechanical units. Follow work instructions and circuit-cam instructions accurately to complete assembly tasks. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively during daily assembly operations. Maintain a clean and organized work area in a production and cleanroom-compatible environment. Contribute to production goals by working efficiently and meeting established timelines. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in the assembly of electronic assemblies. Ability to understand and execute circuit-cam instructions and written work instructions. Basic working knowledge and experience with computers for production-related tasks. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and specifications. Skill in using and identifying hand tools such as power drivers, wire cutters, nut drivers, torque wrenches, and similar tools. Experience with soldering, including working with cables, connectors, and electronic components. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and accurately in a production environment. Capability to perform basic functional testing and ICT testing on assembled units. Comfort working in a clean manufacturing or cleanroom-type environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards in mechanical and electronic assembly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience assembling both through-hole and surface-mount electronic assemblies. Background in mechanical assembly using hand and power tools. Familiarity with production environments and following standardized work instructions. Ability to use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools for precise assembly. Comfort interfacing with customers when needed to support projects or resolve issues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assembly tasks. Work Environment This role is based in a clean manufacturing environment designed for precision electronic and mechanical assembly. You will work primarily with hand tools and power tools, including power drivers, wire cutters, nut drivers, torque wrenches, and measuring tools such as tape measures, as well as computers for following work instructions and circuit-cam processes. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The environment supports production and cleanroom-compatible practices, emphasizing organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buford, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
