Assembler Job Description This assembler role focuses primarily on cabling and kitting within a modern, clean, and climate-controlled production environment that supports the transportation industry. You will perform a wide range of production operator functions, including mechanical, electrical, and cable assembly, configuration, kitting, testing, packaging, identification, and material handling. You will follow established operating procedures, read and interpret technical documentation, and work with minimal supervision to complete work orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Perform mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, cable assembly, harness assembly, and electronic assembly according to established operating procedures. Focus on cabling and kitting tasks, ensuring all components are accurately prepared, organized, and assembled for production. Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to assemble equipment and products correctly. Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks, following appropriate methods and procedures. Configure, test, package, identify, and handle materials and finished products in accordance with quality and production requirements. Work from work orders and task lists with minimal assistance, independently managing assigned tasks and prioritizing work to meet deadlines. Change out applicators on the cut strip crimp (CSC) machine as needed to support cable and wire processing operations. Complete production processes in line with quality standards, ensuring products meet specifications and are free from defects. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all established safety procedures and guidelines. Cross-train in other departments as needed to support overall production demands and enhance operational flexibility. Collaborate effectively with team members while also working productively on individual assignments. Perform other related duties as requested by production management to support business needs. Essential Skills Proven experience in cable assembly, wire harness assembly, harness assembly, and cable building. Hands-on experience with electronic assembly and soldering in a production or similar environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials. Comfort using a variety of hand and power tools for mechanical, electrical, and cable assembly tasks. Basic math skills to support measurements, counts, and production-related calculations. Basic computer skills to follow work orders, documentation, and production instructions. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for cable, wire, and component measurements. Ability to stand for 8 or more hours per day to perform production tasks. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as part of daily material handling and assembly work. Capability to work from work orders and task lists with little assistance, demonstrating independence and initiative. Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing all work in accordance with quality and safety standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with cut strip crimp (CSC) machines, including changing out applicators. Experience in kitting operations, including organizing components and preparing kits for assembly. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment with climate-controlled facilities. Ability to cross-train and perform tasks in multiple departments to support changing production needs. Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to work effectively and productively on individual assignments. Willingness to work on a contract basis with potential for contract-to-hire conversion depending on workload and performance. Why Work Here? The production area supports cabling, kitting, and electronic assembly operations using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as cut strip crimp (CSC) machines. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
