Job Description

Position Summary The basic function of the Hardware Installation Technician is to assemble metal products, attach sub-assemblies, and install fasteners. Analyze work orders, work pieces, and blueprints to determine process, materials, and sequence of operations required to assemble parts. Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, rivets or fasteners. Install hardware such as fasteners, terminals and electrical components. Operate drill presses, riveting machines, or other installation equipment to assist in assembly operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Analyze work orders, work pieces, and blueprints to determine process, materials, and sequence of operations required to assemble parts. Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, rivets or fasteners. Install hardware such as fasteners, terminals and electrical components. Operate riveting machines, or other installation equipment to assist in assembly operation. Make minor repairs and clean tools between use. Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices. Communicate and confer with engineers, production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve problems that may arise. Submit change requests as necessary to help keep production times competitive. Experience:
Record of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
