Production Worker Job Description This role supports electronic production manufacturing by performing testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging to help meet customer deadlines. You will work on routine, well-defined tasks under close supervision, developing your skills in a clean, light industrial environment. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and an interest in building a long-term career in electronics manufacturing, including those coming from retail, food service, or other entry-level roles. Responsibilities Support production manufacturing activities to ensure customer deadlines are consistently met. Perform testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging of electronic components and assemblies. Assemble components by hand, including tasks similar to inserting one hose into another, while meeting defined productivity and throughput goals. Follow detailed work instructions, production standards, and established procedures for all assigned tasks. Use basic hand tools and follow blueprints or work diagrams to complete electronic assembly work. Operate within established company policies and procedures, seeking approval for any deviations. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met. Monitor your own work to identify defects, eliminate scrap or rework, and improve overall quality. Document work accurately using basic computer programs, including simple data entry and basic Excel for documentation. Use email (Outlook or similar) and internal systems to receive instructions and communicate as needed. Adapt to changes in work plans, priorities, and decisions, and support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S. Look for opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality in your work area. Work cooperatively with team members and cross-functional teams to achieve production goals. Maintain a level temperament and professionalism in a fast-paced or stressful environment. Openly share information, knowledge, and experience with co-workers to support team success. Take on additional assignments as needed and learn new tasks with minimal supervision. Stay current on required certifications and training for the role and apply new requirements promptly. Consistently complete assignments on time without compromising quality. Use time effectively to manage workload and ensure individual throughput goals are met. Escalate issues to supervisors when needed and keep them informed of progress or concerns. Essential Skills Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate simple programs, use basic Excel for documentation, and work with email (such as Outlook). Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and small components. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, blueprints, or work diagrams for electronic assembly. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy. Ability to adapt to changing work plans, priorities, and decisions in the production environment. Capability to work cooperatively in a team and cross-functional teams. Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced or stressful environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to be flexible and help in other departments as needed. Ability to safely lift and handle up to approximately 10-15 pounds on a regular basis. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred. One (1) or more years of related experience in production, electronic assembly, or similar environments is preferred. Experience in electronic manufacturing, including through-hole or surface-mount soldering, is highly valued. Experience in retail, fast food/food service, or other manufacturing fields is welcomed. Experience in warehouse environments may be considered. Familiarity with electronic assembly processes and production environments. Ability and desire to progress and build a long-term career within a manufacturing organization. Interest in continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S and other productivity or quality improvements. Demonstrated ability to complete assignments on time without compromising quality. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility with approximately 450 permanent employees, offering suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level. The position is on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with typical workweeks of 50-55 hours and up to 58 hours during the busiest periods. The environment is light industrial and general assembly focused, with tasks involving testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging of electronic products. Work involves handling small components and light parts, generally lifting no more than 10-15 pounds. You will have the option to sit or stand during the 10-hour shift, although standing is required for portions of the day. Basic computer systems, including internal programs, Excel for documentation, and email tools, are used regularly. The facility emphasizes adherence to production standards, safety, quality, and continuous improvement, creating a structured yet supportive environment for learning and growth. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
