Job Description
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Rework Soldering Technicians for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments supporting PCB rework, hand soldering and electronics production. This role is designed for technicians who can perform through-hole and surface mount rework, identify defects against IPC and J-STD requirements and complete precise repairs on complex multilayer circuit boards. Position Overview The Rework Soldering Technician performs PCB rework, component replacement, soldering and inspection activities in an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment. This position requires hands-on experience with through-hole and surface mount soldering, magnification-based inspection and IPC workmanship standards. Technicians will also document completed repairs and support X-ray verification when required. Responsibilities Perform through-hole PCB rework and hand soldering Perform surface mount PCB rework and soldering Verify defects against IPC and J-STD requirements before completing repairs Remove and replace electronic components on complex multilayer circuit boards Use soldering irons, pre-heaters and desolder guns Use resistive tweezers and related electronics assembly tools Conduct visual inspections under magnification throughout the rework process Perform X-ray verification of completed repairs when applicable Set oven temperatures and load circuit boards for curing Document repairs, labor and work order activity using company software Follow IPC Class 3 workmanship standards Maintain a clean and compliant ESD-controlled work environment Qualifications Experience performing PCB rework in a manufacturing environment Experience with through-hole soldering Experience with surface mount soldering Experience using pre-heaters and desolder guns Ability to work under a microscope or magnification throughout the shift Experience working with Class 2 or Class 3 circuit boards Strong understanding of IPC workmanship standards Basic computer skills Basic Microsoft Excel skills
