Production Associate Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Associate to support assembly and production operations in a fast-paced, clean, and organized manufacturing environment. In this role, you will assemble components, perform inspections and quality checks, pack parts for shipping, and follow detailed work instructions while using hand and power tools. This is a first-shift position where mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a strong willingness to learn are highly valued.

Pay:

$19/hour Responsibilities Assemble sub-components of motors according to detailed work instructions and quality standards. Pack parts and finished products for shipping, ensuring proper labeling, protection, and accuracy. Pick and stage items and materials required for production activities. Complete routine quality checks on parts and assemblies to verify conformance to specifications. Clean and prepare metal parts by removing protective oil used to prevent rust during shipping. Read and follow detailed written instructions, production documents, and computer-based work orders. Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly to perform assembly and production tasks. Move between different production cells and areas as needed and adapt to various tasks. Work effectively within team-based production lines of 8-20 people, supporting team goals and output. Maintain good attendance and punctuality and adhere to the company's attendance policies. Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to report issues, ask questions, and support continuous improvement. Contribute to a clean, organized, and temperature-controlled production environment by following 5S and housekeeping practices. Essential Skills Previous production experience within a manufacturing or production environment is preferred. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day while performing production and assembly tasks. Ability to read and work from a computer screen, including viewing work orders and instructions. Ability to use a computer to access and follow production documentation. Consistently good attendance and punctuality, with the ability to follow an attendance policy. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new tasks and processes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and power tools. Ability to be trained and to apply new skills quickly and reliably. Additional Skills & Qualifications Quality control or packing experience in a manufacturing or production setting. Experience in electronic assembly or soldering work. Previous experience in a cleanroom or highly organized production environment. Prior tenure of 6+ months in previous positions, demonstrating reliability and commitment. Previous experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing role. Familiarity with inspection processes and basic quality assurance practices. Comfort working under an attendance policy and maintaining strong attendance habits. No prior assembly experience is strictly required; candidates with strong personality fit, willingness to learn, and reliability are encouraged to apply. Interest in developing skills that can lead to roles in quality control, repair, leadership, office support, engineering, or technician positions. Work Environment The role is based in a modern, extremely clean, and temperature-controlled production facility in Buffalo Grove. The site is part of a larger network of manufacturing and production locations and is divided into manufacturing and a separate production building, with approximately 150 employees on-site and around 100 working directly in production. Production work takes place on organized lines where employees collaborate in teams of 8-20 people. You will work in different production cells and may move from area to area depending on daily tasks, which can include assembly of motor sub-components, packing parts for shipping, picking items for production, completing quality checks, and cleaning metal parts. The standard shift is first shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime is available within a broader window (approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and on some Saturdays for 8-hour shifts, and overtime is optional; however, if you sign up, you are expected to work the full overtime shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
