Electrical Assembler -
Entry Level Panel Builder Location:
Franklin Park, IL (Onsite)
Pay:
$20.00/hr +

Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire Position Overview Are you looking for an entry-level electrical career in a stable industrial environment? We are hiring a Panel Builder / Electrical Assembler for our custom manufacturing shop in Franklin Park. This role is perfect for candidates with a mechanical mindset who want to learn industrial automation and control panel assembly. You will work on the complete final assembly of electrical and mechanical systems, moving from raw blueprints to a finished, tested product.
Core Responsibilities & Skills Electrical Control Panel Assembly:
Layout and mount electrical components into industrial cabinets.
Wiring & Termination:
Perform detailed point-to-point wiring, run wires, and terminate connections for industrial boiler panels.
Technical Documentation:
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Component Installation:
Install and wire PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs, servos, switches, and 480V motors.
Industrial Fabrication:
Utilize shop tools (drills, saws, disc cutters) and bend conduit (up to 1 1/4 inch) for wiring protection.
Quality & Support:
Perform electrical debugging, test mechanical movement, and support other departments (painting, welding, shipping) as needed.
Qualifications Experience:
Prior experience as a Panel Builder, Electrical Technician, or Electronic Assembler is highly preferred.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. A Technical Degree in Electronics or Electrical Technology is a major plus.
Manual Dexterity:
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automatic tube benders.
Environmental Awareness:
Comfortable working in a custom job shop environment (non-climate controlled; can be hot in the summer). Why Work with Us?

Work Environment The work is conducted in a custom job shop environment with overhead cranes, multiple welding stations, and a paint booth. Projects are spaced out to accommodate the nature of the work. The environment can be very hot in the summer, with conditions reflecting the demands of the job. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
