Job Title:
Cable Assembler Job Description This position involves assembling small to medium-sized cables at an individual workstation as part of a team of experienced assemblers. You will work from detailed drawings and blueprints to build a variety of cable types, using hand tools, crimpers, and magnification equipment for precise work on small components. The role offers the opportunity to learn new skills over time and grow through several internal levels while contributing to the production of high-end audio cables used in premium sound systems. Responsibilities Assemble a variety of small to medium-sized cables at your own workstation, following detailed drawings and blueprints. Review the assigned kit and associated documentation at the start of each day to understand the build requirements. Use wire crimpers and other hand tools to attach connectors and end pieces to cables with accuracy and consistency. Perform assembly work under magnifying glasses and, when needed, microscopes to handle smaller components and ensure precise connections. Follow cable assembly instructions, including wiring and soldering steps where required, to meet production and quality standards. Inspect completed cable assemblies for accuracy, quality, and workmanship before moving them to the next stage of production. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in line with the facility's standards. Collaborate and communicate with team members and engineers to clarify requirements and incorporate feedback into your work. Adapt to varying daily tasks, taking on different cable assembly projects as production needs change. Demonstrate reliability and consistent attendance to support steady production output. Proactively seek opportunities to learn new processes, such as electronic assembly and advanced equipment operation, to progress through internal skill levels. Essential Skills 6 months to 1 year of hands-on cable assembly experience. Ability to read and speak English to follow written instructions, blueprints, and safety guidelines. Proven, solid work tenure demonstrating reliability and commitment. Experience working with hand tools, including wire crimpers, in a production or assembly environment. Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints for cable and wiring assemblies. Comfort working with small components under magnifying glasses and, when needed, microscopes. Proactive mindset with a strong drive to learn and grow into new skill sets, including electronic and cable assembly. Ability to work effectively in a quiet, focused production environment while maintaining attention to detail. Basic understanding of wiring, harness assembly, and production workflows. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electronic assembly or related production work. Interest in learning SMT (surface mount technology) machine operation. Interest in learning 3D wood printing and related processes. Desire for long-term growth, with motivation to progress through multiple internal skill levels. Ability to receive and apply direct feedback from engineers to continuously improve quality and efficiency. Familiarity with audio equipment such as speakers, amplifiers, turntables, and home or studio audio systems is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work on a first-shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a one-hour lunch, offering a stable daytime routine and minimal overtime. The facility is a small, organized, and very clean production environment where each assembler has an individual workstation. The atmosphere is generally quiet and focused, especially during peak production periods, with team members interacting respectfully and collaborating as needed. Work involves frequent use of hand tools, wire crimpers, magnifying glasses, and occasionally microscopes to assemble high-quality cables for premium audio applications. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holliston, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
