Wiring Technician Job Summary We are seeking a detail‑oriented and skilled Wiring Technician to join our fast‑paced manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the assembly and wiring of high‑quality electrical products, including switchboards and panelboards. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints and schematics, and a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Assemble and wire electrical components in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and work orders. Build switchboards, panelboards, copper bussing, and related electrical assemblies to precise specifications. Read and interpret front views, wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and CAD‑based manufacturing documentation. Use hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches safely and accurately. Inspect materials and completed assemblies for defects, damage, proper spacing, and structural alignment. Identify missing or nonconforming components and support issue resolution and root‑cause analysis. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection). Accurately document work progress and communicate shortages, issues, and updates with team members and supervisors. Utilize computer systems to access engineering designs and manufacturing instructions. Contribute ideas and initiatives to improve product quality, efficiency, and workflow processes. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience in electrical or mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and bills of materials. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches. Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect defects or inconsistencies. Good communication and teamwork skills. Problem‑solving ability related to assembly, quality, and component issues. Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills for accessing designs and work instructions. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with switchgear, panelboards, or electrification products. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques. Experience working with electrical components and wiring systems. Work Environment Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to machinery and electrical components. Requires adherence to safety standards and use of PPE at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
