Electro-Mechanical Technician - Drive Systems Job SummaryThe Electromechanical Technician is responsible for overseeing assembling, testing, and maintaining caster products in a manufacturing environment. This role requires a combination of mechanical assembly skills and basic electrical knowledge to support the production of high-quality caster assemblies. The technician ensures all components are built to specification, function properly, and meet company quality standards. Key Responsibilities Assemble caster units, including wheels, brackets, bearings, and related mechanical components Perform basic electrical assembly tasks such as wiring, connecting components, and testing electrical features (if applicable) Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete assemblies Inspect parts and finished products for defects, proper fit, and functionality Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during assembly and testing Conduct functional testing to verify performance and durability of caster units Maintain production records and report any quality or process issues Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production goals Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred 1-3 years of experience in electromechanical or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing setting Ability to read and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams Basic knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical components Experience using hand tools, power tools, and inspection equipment Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Skills Experience with caster, wheel type assemblies, or similar products Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices Basic troubleshooting skills with electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeter) Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Work Environment Manufacturing/production floor environment Exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment
