Job Title:
Panel Assembler Job Description The Panel Assembler builds electrical panels for refrigeration houses used on the exterior of grocery and commercial facilities. You assemble custom panels by routing and terminating wiring, following electrical schematics and blueprints, and using a variety of hand and power tools. You work as part of a small team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where each project is unique and tailored to customer needs. Responsibilities Assemble electrical panels for refrigeration houses according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Run, route, and terminate wiring to complete panel assemblies while maintaining neat and organized wire layouts. Interpret and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate connections and proper functionality. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to build, fasten, and secure panel components. Collaborate with a team of 3-4 assemblers to complete custom projects efficiently and on schedule. Inspect own work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications before units move to the next stage. Adapt to different panel configurations and custom builds, adjusting methods as needed for each project. Handle materials and components safely, including regularly lifting 20+ pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Maintain a clean and organized work area while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Stand for extended periods (10+ hours per day) and perform frequent bending, reaching, and other physical tasks as required by the job. Essential Skills Electrical wiring experience from a manufacturing or construction environment, or current enrollment in a relevant technical program. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. Hands-on experience with electrical assembly or panel wiring. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly work. Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing setting. Physical ability to stand for 10+ hours per day and to lift 20+ pounds regularly and 50+ pounds occasionally. Ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, standing, and sitting throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning electrical wiring for candidates with strong mechanical skills. Willingness to cross-train in areas such as brazing, quality, and functional testing. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work. Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate closely with a small group. Flexibility to work on custom, non-repetitive projects where each build may differ from the last. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large manufacturing facility where units are built in teams of 3-4 people in a fast-paced, production-focused setting. The shop is well lit, clean, and organized, though you can expect to get dirty due to the nature of the work. There is no air conditioning, but fans and airflow systems help maintain circulation throughout the building. The position requires standing for extended periods (often 10+ hours), frequent bending and reaching, and regular lifting of 20+ pounds with occasional lifts up to 50 pounds. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required as part of the daily dress code, and you regularly use hand and power tools while working around large refrigeration panel assemblies. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Anoka, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
