Switchgear Assembler - Job Description Position Summary The Switchgear Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, and building electrical switchgear and control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with electrical components in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assemble switchgear units, electrical panels, and related components following technical drawings and schematics Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials Mount, align, and secure components such as breakers, bus bars, contactors, and wiring systems Perform point-to-point wiring, cable routing, labeling, and terminating of wires to specifications Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and install components accurately Conduct quality inspections and verify assemblies meet specifications and safety standards Assist with testing electrical functionality and troubleshoot issues as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies Follow production schedules and complete tasks within required timeframes Document work performed and communicate any issues to supervisors or leads Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred 1-3+ years of experience in electrical assembly, switchgear, or panel wiring preferred Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electrical components and systems Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring devices Experience with wiring, crimping, and electrical connections Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bloomfield, NJ.
