Job Description

Job Description The Electronics Assembler will build and wire precision electronic instrument sub-assemblies and final assemblies, working from detailed drawings, schematics, and parts lists. This role involves soldering and reworking printed circuit boards, fabricating simple mechanical fixtures, and supporting new production projects from the ground up. The position is hands-on and requires strong attention to detail, quality, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Mechanically assemble instrument sub-assemblies and complete assemblies according to instructions, assembly drawings, and parts lists. Wire instrument sub-assemblies, cables, and assemblies using hand tools and established wiring diagrams. Solder or otherwise attach electronic components to printed circuit boards, including surface mount and through-hole components. Rework or modify printed circuit board assemblies as needed to meet design or quality requirements. Make and assemble mechanical test fixtures as required to support production and testing activities. Assist the incoming receiving department with inspection of metal work to ensure it meets specifications and quality standards. Perform minor modifications and adjustments to metal parts in the company machine shop using appropriate tools and processes. Serve as a lead person in assembly and wiring for new production projects, helping to set up builds and support introduction of new products. Follow quality control inspection procedures and contribute to maintaining high standards of workmanship. Read, interpret, and work from parts lists, bills of materials, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Use microscopes and other tools when required for fine-pitch or detailed assembly work. Support a safe and organized work area by following all safety guidelines, housekeeping practices, and production procedures. Be available for scheduled overtime as needed to meet production and project deadlines. Essential Skills Proven experience in mechanical and electrical assembly of electronic instruments or similar products. Strong soldering skills, including work with surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components on printed circuit boards. Ability to perform wiring and crimping for cables, harnesses, and assemblies using hand tools. Ability to read and understand parts lists, bills of materials, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Hands-on experience with circuit board assembly, rework, and modification. Familiarity with manufacturing tools, equipment, and standard production processes. Knowledge of quality control inspection procedures and the ability to apply them during assembly and inspection tasks. Ability to work with microscopes or magnification tools for detailed assembly or inspection work. Ability to read, speak, and understand English to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and documentation. Willingness and availability to work scheduled overtime when required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Rutherford, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
