Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling products that range from simple electrical cords to complex mobile generator systems. You use point-to-point wiring techniques and basic hand tools to build high-quality electrical assemblies while maintaining strong attention to detail and a positive, reliable work style. Responsibilities Assemble electrical products, including electrical cords and mobile generator systems, according to specifications and work instructions. Perform point-to-point wiring to connect components accurately and safely within each assembly. Use basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, and utility knives to complete daily tasks. Strip wires to the correct length and prepare them for connections and terminations. Inspect assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper wiring before completion. Follow directions from the assembly supervisor and collaborate effectively with the assembly team. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe production. Adapt to different assembly tasks and product types as production needs change. Demonstrate consistent attention to detail to ensure all assemblies meet quality and safety standards. Arrive on time and work reliably throughout the assigned shift to support production goals. Essential Skills Experience with point-to-point wiring in an assembly or electrical production environment. Ability to strip wires accurately and safely using appropriate tools. Proficiency with basic hand tools, including screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, and utility knives. Strong attention to detail when assembling and wiring electrical components. Willingness to learn new tasks and processes in a production environment. Reliability and consistency in attendance and work habits. Flexible and positive personality that supports teamwork and a productive work atmosphere. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in electrical assembly, production, or related work is beneficial. Comfort working with various electrical components and assemblies. Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, or basic schematics. Strong communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and team members. Work Environment This position operates in a production and assembly environment focused on building electrical cords and mobile generator systems. You work on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or 2nd shift schedule from 3:00 p.m to 11:30 pm. The work involves regular use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, and utility knives, and requires standing, moving between workstations, and handling electrical components throughout the shift. The setting emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with clear direction from an assembly supervisor and close collaboration with other assemblers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.70/hr.
