Job Title:
Electrical Panel Builder Job Description The Electrical Panel Builder assembles and wires control panels used in oil and gas drilling operations. This role focuses on interpreting electrical schematics, performing precise electrical assembly and wiring, and ensuring that control panels are built to high quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Build and assemble electrical control panels used in oil and gas drilling applications. Interpret and follow electrical schematics and blueprints to complete panel assemblies accurately. Perform detailed electrical wiring, ensuring correct routing, termination, and organization of cables and conductors. Differentiate and correctly use various wire gauges, including 12-gauge and 14-gauge wire, based on schematic and application requirements. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and other electrical components. Conduct basic inspections of completed panels to verify compliance with schematics and quality standards. Assist with electrical assembly and maintenance tasks related to control panels as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines. Essential Skills Hands-on experience reading and working from electrical schematics. Demonstrated electrical wiring experience in an assembly or control panel environment. Ability to clearly explain prior experience working with electrical schematics and wiring. Ability to distinguish and correctly apply different wire gauges, including 12-gauge and 14-gauge wire. Proficiency with electrical assembly tasks such as routing wires, installing components, and terminating connections. Experience using hand tools and power tools for electrical work. Basic maintenance skills related to electrical systems or equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with control panel assembly or similar electrical assembly work. Background in electrical maintenance, assembly, or related trades. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Familiarity with oil and gas industry equipment is a plus. Work Environment This position operates on a first shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work is performed in a shop or production environment focused on building electrical control panels, using standard hand and power tools and electrical assembly equipment.
