Job Title:
Panel Builder Job Description This role focuses on building and assembling electrical control panels used in oil and gas drilling operations. You will read and interpret electrical schematics, perform precise wiring and assembly tasks, and help ensure that each panel meets quality, safety, and performance standards. Responsibilities Build and assemble electrical control panels used in oil and gas drilling applications. Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and blueprints to complete panel builds accurately. Perform electrical wiring, terminations, and connections within control panels according to specifications and standards. Use hand and power tools to cut, strip, crimp, and install electrical components and wiring. Inspect and verify wiring layouts, component placement, and overall assembly quality throughout the build process. Troubleshoot and correct basic wiring or assembly issues identified during build or inspection. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical components and tools. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and project deadlines. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support consistent, high-quality panel assembly. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with electrical wiring in an assembly or maintenance environment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints accurately. Proficiency in electrical assembly, including routing, terminating, and securing wiring and components. Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively for electrical and mechanical tasks. Understanding of basic electrical principles and safe work practices. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with minimal supervision once trained. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in control panel assembly or related electrical assembly work. Experience in electrical maintenance or industrial maintenance environments. Familiarity with control panel components such as breakers, relays, contactors, and terminal blocks. Ability to read and interpret general assembly drawings and mechanical blueprints. Comfort working in a production setting with project deadlines and changing priorities. Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to evolving project requirements. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a first-shift position with typical hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work in a production and assembly environment focused on building electrical control panels. The role is hands-on and requires regular use of hand and power tools, electrical components, and schematic drawings at a dedicated workstation or bench. The setting supports collaborative work with other technicians while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and on-time project completion. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
