Job Summary We are seeking a Control Panel Technician I to join our manufacturing and electrical assembly team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels used in various industrial applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electronics, mechanical assembly, and schematic reading, with a focus on precision and quality. This position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills in electro-mechanical systems while contributing to the production of reliable control solutions. There are also benefits available once a qualifying period has been reached. Duties Assemble electrical control panels according to detailed blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications. Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to accurately wire and connect components. Safely operate manual power hand tools (Wire strippers, hydraulic/mechanical crimpers, torque drivers, drills and knockout punches) Install and wire electro-mechanical components such as relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Conduct testing of assembled panels using multimeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to ensure functionality. Follow IPC 610 standards for electronic assembly quality and maintain compliance with safety protocols. Troubleshoot electrical wiring issues and perform basic engineering troubleshooting on control systems. Assist in the interpretation of electrical schematics and blueprints during assembly and troubleshooting activities. Familiarity with usage of different panels for different PLCs, VFDs, Smart Relays, and Power Distribution systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to manufacturing best practices and quality standards. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Strong mechanical aptitude with natural pride in neat precise craftsmanship Familiarity with electrical wiring, electrical panel building, and electrical schematic reading. Ability to read a tape measure Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and wiring equipment Ability to stand for extended assembly shifts and lift up to 50 lbs. safely Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for documentation purposes. Prior experience in manufacturing or electrical panel building is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed.
