- Job Description This role assembles, tests, and troubleshoots complex electromechanical systems in a production environment.
You will build mechanical subassemblies, wire harnesses, and electrical panels using detailed drawings, schematics, and work instructions, while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and continuous improvement. The position offers the opportunity to develop advanced skills, take on leadership responsibilities within the production team, and support new product and proof-of-concept builds. Responsibilities Accurately and safely assemble electromechanical assemblies in accordance with drawings, schematics, written instructions, and verbal guidance. Solder, strip, crimp, and splice electrical conductors and connections to build reliable electrical assemblies. Build mechanical subassemblies using a variety of fastening methods and ensure components are assembled to specification. Torque fasteners to the proper specifications and in the correct sequence to ensure mechanical integrity. Route cables and secure wiring throughout systems to maintain neat, safe, and serviceable installations. Properly and consistently attach labels and nameplates to assemblies, components, and cables for clear identification. Measure dimensions and clearances to verify proper fit of parts and adherence to design specifications. Safely use standard assembly tools, including hex wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, wire strippers, and torque tools. Use appropriate tooling, fixtures, and jigs to aid in accurate and efficient assembly. Read and understand electrical schematics and bills of materials, and escalate errors or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel. Inspect components visually for flaws or damage and promptly report issues to the appropriate personnel. Inspect and test subassemblies, verifying mechanical functionality and performing electrical continuity tests using a voltmeter. Assist with packaging finished goods, material handling and kitting, warehouse cleanup, and general organization as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work area, including active participation in 5S and other workplace organization initiatives. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of electromechanical assembly or related building experience. Proficiency in mechanical assembly using a variety of fastening methods and techniques. Ability to solder, strip, crimp, and splice electrical conductors accurately and safely. Ability to route cables and secure wiring throughout systems in an organized and serviceable manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience building and routing wire harnesses and cable assemblies. Familiarity with UL 508A electrical panel layout, routing, and termination. Experience building cables and wire harnesses to IPC 620 standards. Experience assembling 24V safety circuits, including emergency stops, light curtains, status lights, and sensors. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large warehouse-style production and manufacturing facility with dedicated workstations for electromechanical assembly. Workstations are being built out and improved, providing individual stations equipped with hand and power tools for mechanical and electrical assembly work. The environment is production-focused and hands-on, involving regular use of hand tools, power tools, test fixtures, and specialized test equipment. You can expect to stand or sit for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle components and assemblies weighing up to approximately 40-50 pounds. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, supported by 5S practices and a structured approach to quality and process control. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
