Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components by following work instructions, blueprints, or manuals in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will use a variety of hand, power, and hydraulic tools, as well as tape measures in both metric and imperial units, to build products safely, accurately, and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assembly tasks according to work instructions, blueprints, or manuals. Use hand, power, and hydraulic tools safely and effectively to assemble components. Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and manuals to understand assembly requirements and specifications. Measure and verify parts and assemblies using tape measures, applying both metric and imperial units and performing basic conversions as needed. Follow established production processes and quality standards to ensure accurate and consistent assembly. Train and rotate through multiple areas of the production line as needed to support workflow and cross-functional coverage. Follow verbal and written instructions carefully and ask clarifying questions when needed to ensure correct assembly. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials. Adhere to all safety requirements, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as metatarsal steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Stand for extended periods (75% of the time or more) on concrete floors while performing assembly tasks. Support production goals by working scheduled 10-hour shifts and participating in overtime when required. Essential Skills Minimum of 6 months of prior assembly experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and hands-on experience using hand, power, and hydraulic tools for at least 6 months. Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or manuals in a production setting. Proficiency using a tape measure with both metric and imperial measurements and the ability to perform basic unit conversions. Comfort working in a large manufacturing environment with multiple buildings and production areas. Willingness to train and work in multiple areas of the production line as needed. Strong attendance and reliability, with the ability to consistently work scheduled 10-hour shifts. Ability to take direction well and follow instructions accurately. Capability to stand for long periods (75% of the time or more) on concrete floors. Commitment to following safety procedures and consistently using required personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications No high school diploma or GED required. Prior experience in a dark, dusty, or dirty manufacturing or industrial environment is helpful. Experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical assemblies is a plus. Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting with shifting priorities. Openness to learning new skills and pursuing higher certifications through paid training. Interest in long-term career growth and advancement within a production environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a large manufacturing facility with multiple buildings and concrete floors, where you will stand for approximately 75% of your shift or more. The environment can be dark, musky, and dirty in some areas, reflecting a heavy industrial setting. You will work 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, with first shift running from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with overtime typically available on Fridays. Metatarsal steel-toe footwear is required, and safety glasses and hearing protection are mandatory and provided. All tools and necessary equipment are supplied. The typical dress code includes jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt; shorts and sweatpants are not allowed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shady Grove, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $20.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
