Job Description The Mechanical Assembler produces high-quality components by assembling mechanical parts and subassemblies, integrating intermediate-level electrical wiring, and ensuring all finished assemblies meet quality and safety standards. This role works with a variety of hand and power tools, follows mechanical blueprints and assembly diagrams, and supports a growing production line in a climate-controlled facility. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical parts and subassemblies to produce complete components according to specifications. Perform intermediate-level electrical wiring and integrate electrical wires into products. Use hand tools such as crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, soldering tools, cements, and press-fit tools to assemble parts. Mount assembled components, including transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, onto chassis and panels. Connect component wires to circuits and route wires between individual component leads. Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, cabinets, and enclosures. Position and align components and parts accurately before fastening or connecting. Operate hand tools and power tools, including torque drills, wrenches, and ratchets, to complete mechanical assembly tasks. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and mechanical assembly diagrams to perform assembly and repair work. Conduct quality control checks on assemblies and components to ensure they meet required standards. Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Work on an assembly line as needed to support production demands. Perform basic repair and rework on mechanical assemblies when required. Clean and maintain the work area, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and organized environment. Essential Skills Proficiency working with a wide variety of hand and power tools, including torque drills, wrenches, and ratchets. Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and mechanical assembly diagrams. Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with mechanical assembly tasks. Experience working on an assembly line or in a production environment. Ability to perform intermediate-level electrical wiring and integrate electrical wires into products. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using torque tools in a production or assembly setting. Experience in mechanical assembly, repair, or related technical work. Familiarity with quality control practices in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled production facility focused on mechanical and electrical assembly. You can expect 10-hour shifts with weekend work for the time being, with a typical first shift schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and periods of mandatory 12-hour shifts and mandatory weekend work to meet production demands. The work involves standing for extended periods, working on an assembly line, and regularly using hand and power tools such as torque drills, wrenches, ratchets, and measuring tools. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
