Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling mechanical and electrical components into complete products by following engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to build, modify, and rework assemblies while performing in‑process quality checks to ensure all products meet established standards. The position requires careful attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and the physical capability to handle repetitive tasks and moderate lifting in a fast‑paced production environment. Responsibilities Assemble frames, sub-assemblies, cooling systems, and enclosure components using hand and power tools. Install mechanical hardware, busbars, brackets, cable trays, and structural components according to engineering drawings and build instructions. Align mechanical parts accurately to ensure proper fit and function. Follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to complete electrical assemblies. Route, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and harnesses to specified standards. Install electrical components as defined by drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions accurately to guide assembly work. Assemble, modify, rework, and reassemble production components using drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, and verbal instructions. Perform repetitive and skilled assembly operations while maintaining quality and production standards. Conduct in‑process and basic quality inspections to verify assemblies meet all specifications and identify defects or non‑conformances. Document results of assembly and inspection activities and communicate issues or discrepancies to engineering or project leads. Work from a tablet or computer to locate job orders and follow digital work instructions or data entry requirements. Use hand and power tools, including power screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimpers, safely and effectively. Lift and move components and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks. Troubleshoot basic assembly issues and assist in resolving problems related to mechanical or electrical builds. Essential Skills Proven experience in mechanical and electrical assembly work. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including power screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimpers. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly and installation of hardware, brackets, and structural components. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work instructions. Ability to follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to complete wiring and electrical assemblies. Proficiency in routing, cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating wires and harnesses. Experience with electrical assembly, including installing electrical components and performing basic electrical wiring tasks. Capability to perform repetitive, skilled assembly operations while maintaining consistent quality and productivity. Basic computer and tablet skills for accessing job orders and completing computer data entry. Ability to perform quality checks, identify defects or non‑conformances, and support corrective actions. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in both mechanical and electrical assembly environments. Experience working with control panels, circuit boards, or electronics assembly. Familiarity with production environments, including working from pick tickets and process documentation. Experience performing troubleshooting on mechanical or electrical assemblies. Comfort working with general labor tasks associated with assembly and production. Ability to communicate clearly with engineering, project leads, and team members regarding issues and process improvements. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a production environment with two possible locations, one in Simpsonville and another in Fountain Inn off Southchase Boulevard. Standard shifts include a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule, with current operations often running 10-hour days, as well as an 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. shift. You must be open to overtime as production needs require. The work involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You will regularly use hand and power tools, including power screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimpers, and work from tablets or computers to access job orders and documentation in a structured, safety-focused manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simpsonville, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
