Job Description

Aerotek is hiring Electrical Assembly Responsibilities Assist with mechanical and electrical builds of customer products during and after the training academy. Assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels and switchgear systems with a focus on 3-phase power distribution. Pull, route, crimp, install, and terminate wiring using point-to-point schematics and diagrams for 480V, 120V, and 24V systems. Perform real-time point-to-point testing to verify accurate wiring and identify any issues with wires or housings. Use tools such as multimeters, wire strippers, crimpers, torque wrenches, and other hand and power tools to complete electrical and mechanical assembly tasks. Perform part replacements on tools and equipment as needed and according to established schedules. Resolve routine questions and problems independently, escalating more complex issues to higher-level team members or supervisors. Work under direct, close supervision with frequent monitoring of output and adherence to quality standards. Maintain documentation, update panel layouts, and ensure records accurately reflect wiring changes and configurations. Follow manufacturing protocols and lean production principles to support efficient, high-quality output. Follow detailed written and verbal instructions, including visual aids, diagrams, blueprints, graphs, and electrical schematics. Ensure that the assigned work area remains clean and organized in alignment with 5S standards. Comply with all procedures within the company security policy and adhere to all safety and standard operating procedures. Coordinate with teammates to organize and complete tasks that require multiple team members, working effectively in smaller group teams within the work cell. Communicate with inventory personnel to keep them informed about spare parts inventory levels and locations to support efficient order fulfillment. Participate fully in the two-week training academy, including classroom learning and hands-on lab exercises, and meet all performance and conduct expectations. Apply training on labeling wiring correctly, following proper testing protocols, and aligning wiring in panels for accurate tracing and troubleshooting. Contribute to team goals in a cell-based production environment, assembling units to specification using provided tools and materials. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills Basic electrical wiring or electrical assembly experience preferred. Strong initiative and motivation to learn a skilled trade through an in-depth training academy. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in a production and testing environment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure as applied to wiring lengths, component counts, and test measurements. Ability and drive to learn to interpret blueprints, graphs, electrical schematics, and related technical documentation. Willingness and ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions, including diagrams and visual aids. Comfort using basic hand and power tools commonly used in mechanical and electrical assembly. Reliability and professionalism in a classroom-style training environment, including staying engaged and meeting attendance and conduct expectations. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to coordinate tasks with 5-7 technicians within a work cell. Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and adherence to 5S and security policies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with electrical assembly tasks such as panel wiring, control panel assembly, and industrial panel building. Experience reading and working from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Exposure to or interest in electrical testing, electronics, and electronic assembly. Experience using multimeters, crimpers, wire strippers, torque wrenches, and other diagnostic and assembly tools. Hands-on skills in soldering, adding ferrules, crimping, terminating, landing wiring, and aligning wiring in panels for clear tracing. Mechanical assembly, production, or manufacturing environments. Comfort working with 3-phase power distribution systems and industrial control equipment (training provided). Ability to maintain accurate documentation and update panel layouts or related records. Interest in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement. Strong attention to detail and quality focus when wiring, testing, and labeling components. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
