Kensington Electronics, Inc. is looking for an experienced Cable Assembly & Soldering Specialist to join our Austin production team. What You'll Do In this position, you'll perform hands-on precision soldering, assembly, testing, inspection, and rework of cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and connector terminations.

Responsibilities include:

Perform precision hand soldering of wires, contacts, terminals, shields, and connector assemblies Solder a variety of connector types, including circular, D-Sub, micro-miniature, MIL-spec style, RF/coaxial, and commercial connectors Complete solder cup, turret, eyelet, pin, socket, and direct wire-to-contact terminations Prepare small-gauge, fine-strand, shielded, coaxial, twisted-pair, and multi-conductor wire and cable Measure, cut, strip, tin, crimp, prepare shields, and dress conductors Inspect solder joints and identify or correct workmanship defects Perform rework and repair of cable and connector terminations Read and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, schematics, bills of material, travelers, and work instructions Assemble cable assemblies, wire harnesses, pigtails, backshells, strain reliefs, heat shrink, sleeving, braids, labels, and hardware Perform connector pinning/depinning and contact insertion/removal Conduct continuity, resistance, and other required functional testing Complete visual, dimensional, and in-process inspections Accurately document production, inspection, rework, and nonconformance information Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow Kensington's

What We're Looking For Required:

At least 2 years of hands-on cable assembly soldering experience , with strong experience in connector soldering and wire termination Demonstrated precision soldering ability with small components and fine-gauge conductors Strong understanding of wire preparation, flux behavior, solder flow, heat control, joint formation, and workmanship inspection Ability to read wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, assembly drawings, schematics, bills of material, and work instructions Experience using soldering stations, microscopes, fume extraction equipment, heat guns, wire-preparation tools, crimp tools, continuity testers, and precision hand tools Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively in an in-person production environment Even Better If You Have
