Position is for such repairs on electronic PCB's used in the seismic instrumentation industry. Ability to read schematics, troubleshoot down to the component level, and make repairs with solder irons, hot air, and/or a BGA rework station is required. Requirements
  • Certificated training up to two- or four-year Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) preferred, or sufficient experience that results in that level of knowledge and technical proficiency.
  • Ability to troubleshoot at the component level and identify defective components required.
  • Ability to replace small surface mount (SMT) resistors, capacitors, transistors, ICs, etc. using hot air or solder iron required.
  • Ability to replace microBGAs a big plus.
  • Additional experience replacing components with a
PACE IR3100
a plus.
  • Knowledge and ability to use standard test equipment required (DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.).
  • Ability to plan and carry out various testing and to document results completely and accurately required.
  • General experience or interest in new product design preferred, including making recommendations for improvements.
  • Mixed-signal experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand a schematic is required.
  • Experience with Altium Designer for schematic and PCB viewing a plus.
  • Experience or knowledge of various serial protocols would be useful (SPI, I2C, RS-232/UART, USB, Bluetooth, etc.).
GNSS/GPS
experience or knowledge would be useful.
  • Experience with Li-Ion (lithium ion) batteries would be useful, including fuel gauges, charging, characterizing, etc. Benefits
