Job Description

Job Title:
Electrical Assembler Job Description The Electrical Assembler will be responsible for building copper wire electrical assemblies using tools such as crimping tools and wire strippers. A positive attitude and experience in assembly are essential. Responsibilities Use hand tools and machines to assemble various shipboard, aviation, and ground tactical fiber optic and electrical components into finished goods, including polishing fiber with repetitive figure eight hand movements. Safely operate production tools and equipment. Ensure orders are completed on or before the required due dates and meet quality standards. Read and understand drawings and schematics. Maintain required records of production and report inconsistencies in equipment operation or materials to the supervisor. Maintain proper inventory traceability on components. Train and oversee Assembler I personnel. Lift and move material up to 50 pounds. Essential Skills Experience in assembly, preferably with some experience. An Associate's Degree is preferred.

Certification preferred.
IPC-A-620
Certification preferred. Proficient in reading schematics and blueprints. Experience in electronic and electrical assembly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with copper, wire harness building, or cables is a plus. Open to mechanical, electronic, or electrical assembly experience outside of 'assembly line' style assemblies. Some computer experience for making labels. Strong measuring skills. These ensure robust and reliable communication systems in demanding environments. Work Environment The work environment is a relaxed shop setting with about 20 people. Employees can wear jeans, shorts, and close-toed shoes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
