Electromechanical Technician $25-30/hr. Day Shift Camas, WA Job Description This role focuses on mechanical assembly, point-to-point electrical wiring, soldering, and wire harness assembly in a prototype and low-volume production environment. You will work directly from schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to build new products, perform box and panel assemblies, and support final testing within the electrical assembly department. Responsibilities Perform mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies according to schematics, blueprints, and detailed work instructions. Carry out point-to-point electrical wiring, including routing and terminating wires for harnesses and control panels. Assemble wire harnesses, including cutting, crimping, labeling, bundling, and securing wires to meet design specifications. Conduct soldering operations on electronic components, wires, and connectors in accordance with quality and safety standards. Assemble electrical boxes, control panels, and enclosures, including mounting components and completing button-up and final assembly tasks. Follow electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical prints to build prototype and production units accurately. Use hand and power tools, including power screwdrivers, to assemble, fasten, and adjust components as required. Support inspection, testing, and basic quality assurance activities on completed assemblies and harnesses. Assist with troubleshooting of electrical and electronic assemblies under guidance, identifying obvious defects such as loose connections or miswiring. Collaborate with engineers and technicians in a prototype and R D-style environment to implement design changes and improvements. Document work performed using basic computer and typing skills, including entering data, following electronic work instructions, and updating build records. Apply basic math skills to measure, cut, and verify dimensions of parts, wires, and assemblies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the lab and production environment, following all safety procedures. Operate shop tools such as drill presses, and, where applicable, assist with basic operations on mills and lathes for simple fabrication tasks. Participate in final testing activities, including powering up assemblies, performing basic functional checks, and supporting more detailed testing under supervision. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or production environment. Proficiency with point-to-point electrical wiring, including experience with harnessing wires. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and detailed work instructions. Experience with electronic or electrical assembly, including panel or control panel assembly. Skill in soldering wires, components, and connectors to an acceptable quality standard. Experience using hand tools and power tools, including power screwdrivers, for assembly work. Basic computer and typing skills for documentation and following electronic work instructions. Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying dimensions and quantities. Ability to perform inspection and basic testing of assemblies to verify quality. Capability to troubleshoot simple electrical or electronic issues at the assembly level. Comfort working with wiring harnesses, industrial control components, and related hardware. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in prototype builds, R D laboratories, or low-volume manufacturing environments. Prior experience in an electrical assembly department, including box assembly and final test support. Background in industrial control or control panel assembly. Experience with shop tools such as lathes, mills, and drill presses for basic fabrication tasks. Previous exposure to testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies or control systems.
