Job Description

Electrical Mechanical Assembler II Gilson, Inc. 23 To 27 (USD) Hourly United States, Wisconsin, Middleton May 28, 2026 MISSION Performs light electrical and mechanical assembly of scientific laboratory equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads and follows written instruction on proper assembly of sub-assemblies and final product Uses wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and both mechanical and wiring samples as part of assembly instruction documentation Uses small hand tools to perform light mechanical assembly Operates electrical and pneumatic hand tools Verifies and documents conformance to specification of assemblies and final products Performs some minor testing of sub-assemblies per assembly procedure Confers with engineers and supervisory personnel to resolve assembly problems Uses soldering irons and small hand tools for making electrical connections Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION
High school degree or equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE 2
years of experience in electrical mechanical assembly
SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with identification of electronic components, wire, and hardware Ability to read and understand mechanical/electronic drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials Proficiency in electro-mechanical assembly, including wire stripping, crimping, soldering, plumbing, sheet metal, and machine part assembly Self-inspects work throughout the assembly process and escalates any issues or concerns Proficient oral and written communication skills Familiar with safety and ESD requirements Familiar with
ISO 9001
procedures and work instructions Customer focused and meets all quality, quantity, and established manufacturing practices to satisfy customer requirements Previous experience working with small, precision, mechanical or optical assemblies. Proficient with basic computer operation. Prefer experience with Microsoft Office computer applications
PHYSICAL ABILITY
Ability to distinguish colors Good manual dexterity for handling and assembling small parts Ability to lift 40 lbs. OTHER Regular attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and with others Ability to acquire new skills and to accommodate change in the workplace
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
Experience in a LEAN Manufacturing or other continuous improvement environment
