Mechanical Assembler Location:
Livermore, California Position Summary The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling precision semiconductor manufacturing equipment and subassemblies from engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of material. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a high-quality manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support production schedules while maintaining Plasma-Therm's standards for workmanship, quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems from engineering drawings, BOMs, and work instructions. Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation. Measure, cut, bend, align, and fit materials to specified tolerances. Drill, tap, and modify components as required by assembly drawings. Install hardware, fasteners, fittings, brackets, and related mechanical components. Perform inspections of completed assemblies to verify quality and conformance to specifications. Use measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate workmanship. Identify and communicate drawing discrepancies, quality concerns, or material issues to supervisors and engineering personnel. Maintain accurate production records and complete required manufacturing documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Manufacturing procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to read and assemble from engineering assembly prints. Proficient with basic hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment. Ability to measure, bend, and cut materials accurately. Ability to drill and tap accurately. Familiarity with standard hardware, nuts, bolts, fittings, and fasteners. Experience reading blueprints, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation preferred. Mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, aerospace, semiconductor, or related industries preferred. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Good time-management, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision. Ability to lift, carry, push, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Prior forklift experience preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or general labor environments preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience assembling capital equipment, semiconductor equipment, automation systems, or industrial machinery. Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing execution systems. Experience working in ISO 9001 or similarly regulated manufacturing environments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to perform detailed assembly work requiring manual dexterity and visual accuracy. California Pay Range:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. The pay range for this role is: 24 - 26 USD per hour(US)
