Job Description

$30-$36 per hour Milpitas, CA Contract

  • Duration: 12 months contract
  • + Seeking an Associate Test Engineer to support front-end assembly and build of large, complex systems in a manufacturing/cleanroom environment. The role involves hands-on mechanical assembly, system cabling, cable routing, installation, and troubleshooting of equipment with multiple moving components.
  • Responsibilities:
  • + Perform hands-on mechanical/manufacturing assembly of large systems.

+ Install and route system cabling; cable builds may take 2-3 days.

+ Troubleshoot assembly, cabling, and system-level issues.

+ Work with mechanical components, optics, XY stages/robots, gas purge systems, and related equipment.

+ Use hand tools and perform physical assembly activities.

+ Work in a Class 100 cleanroom for extended periods.

+ Support equipment installation, including climbing ladders up to approximately 8 feet when required.

+ Follow safety, quality, cleanroom, and manufacturing procedures.

+ Lift and move components weighing approximately 30-50 lbs independently.

  • Experience:
  • + Hands-on experience in manufacturing assembly, mechanical assembly, or equipment build.

+ Troubleshooting experience.

+ System cabling and cable-routing experience strongly preferred.

+ Experience working with large mechanical/electromechanical systems preferred.

+ Experience with XY stages, robots, or gas purge systems is a plus.

+ Cleanroom experience preferred, but candidates who can comfortably work in a cleanroom environment may be considered.

+ Comfortable using hand tools and performing hands-on assembly.

+ Ability to work extended hours and maintain a 6-day/week overtime schedule.

  • Skillsets:
  • + Mechanical or electromechanical assembly + Alignment, testing, or equipment troubleshooting + Robotics, motion systems, stages, or automated equipment
  • Education:
  • + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferred, but strong hands-on assembly experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Recent graduates with relevant hands-on projects, mechanical assembly, automotive work, hobbies, or tool experience may also be considered
