An Engine and Machine Fabricator or Assembler constructs, assembles, or rebuilds machines, such as engines, turbines, and similar equipment used in such industries as construction, extraction, textiles, and paper manufacturing.
About the Role Do you want a career where your work truly matters? As an Emergency Vehicle Upfitter , you will play a critical role in equipping the vehicles that keep our communities safe. From fire trucks and ambulances to police cars, public works vehicles, school buses, and tow trucks, you will ensure our first responders and commercial fleets have the specialized equipment they need to do their jobs safely. This is a position you can take pride in, offering a clear path for professional growth within our company. You will operate out of our Eunice, LA location under the direction of our Project Coordinator, with occasional opportunities to support our locations in Mississippi and Texas.
Duties & Responsibilities Equipment Installation:
Intelligently plan and install emergency lights, sirens, speakers, center consoles, antennas, two-way radios, tablets, wireless modems, and miscellaneous accessories.
Run RF cabling, power lines, and all necessary wiring into customer vehicles.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
Properly diagnose and correct electrical issues, including charge guards, power drains, and no-power situations.
System Programming:
Program vehicle control systems using specialized software and cables.
Maintenance & Repair:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and replace antenna lines, power lines, antennas, and other components.
Collaboration:
Assist sales representatives and project coordinators in scoping out and quoting new vehicle installations.
Software Utilization:
Fully utilize company service software to log tasks, track progress, and execute daily job requirements.
Working Conditions & Travel Primary Worksite:
Shop floor environment at our garage in Eunice, LA.
Occasional Travel:
Travel to other company locations in Purvis, MS and Port Neches, TX, as well as field travel to customer agencies to perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs. (Transportation Provided)
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Qualifications Experience:
Prior 12V automotive electrical installation, mechanic, or vehicle upfitting experience is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with various brands of vehicle center consoles, radio brackets, filler plates, and RF/power cabling.
Problem-Solving:
Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues.
