Walker, LA (East of Baton Rouge)
Pay:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM-3:00
PM Job Type:
Full-Time Position Overview VSSI Staffing is seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a growing Repairs Department in Walker, LA. This hands-on position involves assembling and disassembling industrial equipment, cleaning and inspecting components, taking precision measurements, and supporting mechanical repair operations. Key Responsibilities Assemble and disassemble industrial equipment and compressor components Clean, inspect, and prepare parts for repair or reassembly Take accurate measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools Identify worn, damaged, or defective components Assist with mechanical repairs and equipment maintenance Follow work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures Maintain a clean and organized work area Preferred Experience Experience working with one or more of the following is preferred: Reciprocating compressors Pumps, turbines, or gearboxes Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Industrial equipment repair and maintenance Mechanical assembly and disassembly Requirements Previous mechanical assembly, disassembly, or repair experience Ability to use precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to follow instructions and work safely Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Join a growing team and put your mechanical skills to work in a hands-on industrial repair environment!
