Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Mechanical Assembler will assemble mechanical seal components at a workbench in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, confident use of hand and power tools, and the ability to follow detailed drawings, diagrams, and work instructions to meet daily production goals. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical seals using wrenches, tweezers, fine tools, and power tools according to established procedures. Follow pictorial charts, production charts, and written work instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately and efficiently. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams to ensure correct assembly of all components. Handle and fit a variety of mechanical components with precision and attention to detail. Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards and consistent output. Work at a production workbench in a loud, high-activity environment and remain focused on assigned tasks. Lift, move, and position parts and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds as needed during the assembly process. Communicate clearly with team members and assemblers to coordinate work and resolve issues. Follow lean manufacturing practices and contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. Essential Skills Strong mechanical skills and mechanical aptitude. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools, including wrenches, tweezers, and fine tools. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the workday. Ability to follow pictorial charts, production charts, and detailed work instructions. Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and diagrams. Strong communication skills to work effectively within a production team. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working in a production environment with daily production goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge in mechanical assembly or similar hands-on mechanical work. Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment. Comfort working with mechanical components and industrial products. Ability to work closely with a more assembler and learn established processes quickly. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based on a production floor in a lean manufacturing environment focused on industrial fluid sealing systems and related products. Work is performed primarily at a workbench, assembling mechanical components in a loud and noisy setting where getting dirty is common. The position follows structured shift hours, including options such as 1st shift (7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (3:30 p.m.-midnight), and a shift from 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., depending on assignment. You will work as part of a small team, typically with 8-10 people on 1st shift, and will be partnered with a more team member for on-the-job support. The environment requires comfort with industrial tools, machinery noise, and hands-on, physically active work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Groveland, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
