We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Truck Builder to join our team. The Truck Builder will be responsible for assembling, customizing, and modifying trucks to meet customer specifications and industry standards. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:
Assembly and Modification:
Assemble trucks and truck bodies according to blueprints, schematics, and work orders. Install parts, equipment, and accessories such as chassis, wiring systems, fuel systems, hydraulics, and suspension components. Customize trucks based on customer needs and specifications. o Assembly and mechanical experience required including: knowledge of 12 -volt electrical systems and wiring installation, use of measuring devices like a tape measure, levels and micrometer, use of power tools like drills, saws, air tools etc., installation of hydraulic systems (PTO's, pumps, compressors) o Welding metals according to employer requirements o Installing a variety of liftgates, walk ramps, bumpers and platforms o Forklift and overhead crane operation as projects necessitateInspection and Quality Control:
Conduct thorough inspections to ensure builds meet safety and quality standards. Identify and resolve any defects or inconsistencies during the build process.Tool and Equipment Use:
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery safely and efficiently. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects. Communicate effectively to address challenges and improve processes.Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in truck assembly, automotive manufacturing, or a related field preferred.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, repair orders, schematics, and technical documents. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and basic electrical systems is a plus.Soft Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical Requirements:
Comfortable standing, bending, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods. Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods. Requires lifting up to 75 pounds frequently. Requires stretching to reach items up to 75 pounds. Requires working confined spaces. Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery. Occasionally works at heights using ladder or mechanical lift. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires working in a fast paced environment. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision. Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.Work Environment:
The position is primarily based in a garage shop environment with exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures. Overtime may be required based on production demands.Similar remote jobs
