Shift:

1st Shift | 6:50 AM - 3:10 PM | Monday-Friday Position Summary The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling and sub-assembling components, testing, and inspecting safety cabinets to ensure quality and performance standards are met. Duties & Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, shop orders, and work instructions. Perform soap bubble and filter leak testing procedures as required. Conduct final inspections for overall product appearance, including panel fit-up, paint finish, and cleanliness. Take required airflow readings and qualify cabinets for proper operation and performance. Record test data and generate electronic Unit Test Reports for each cabinet tested. Ensure product quality by verifying appearance, squareness, part interchangeability, and overall unit integrity. Perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Operate hand and power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, stud welders, and pneumatic tools. Work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Meet production schedules and takt time requirements. Cross-train in multiple areas of the Assembly Department. Apply Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste, reduce scrap and rework, and improve workflow. Identify root causes of problems and participate in individual and team-based process improvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision. Key Performance Metrics Meet required production levels. Demonstrate mechanical assembly skills. Maintain strong attention to detail. Ensure quality and accuracy of completed work. Follow workplace safety procedures. Physical Requirements Frequently lift 10-20 lbs. and periodically lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally assist with two-person lifts of up to 100 lbs. Stand, stoop, crawl, climb, and bend for up to 8 hours. Minimum Requirements Mechanical assembly experience or skills. Basic problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail.
